The hotel is located in the spa town of Burgh-Haamstede, on the edge of the Zeepeduinen dunes. For us, the highlights of this fantastic 4* hotel are the combination of comfort with relaxation, a nice wellness centre and a location right on the sand dunes. ~Location and key features~
You can’t help but relax and unwind on the Zeelandic island, Schouwen-Duiveland. This stunning spot is the location of the latest addition to our wellness offering, Grand Hotel Ter Duin. The hotel is located in the spa town of Burgh-Haamstede, on the edge of the Zeepeduinen dunes. For us, the highlights of this fantastic 4* hotel are the combination of comfort with relaxation, a nice wellness centre and a location right on the sand dunes. The beach is a further kilometre and a half from the hotel. Bikes are available to hire from the hotel reception, and there is a golf course next door. Freedom and respite are here in abundance, yet lovely villages like Domburg, Middelburg and Goes are just a half hour by car if you feel like mingling.

~Facilities~
At the Restaurant Ter Duin, chefs prepare dishes using regional Zeelandic products. The kitchen is situated in the centre of the restaurant. To complement the restaurant, the hotel has plans to build The James Bar & Grill Restaurant in 2016. Grab a cup of coffee, high tea or a glass of wine at the Grand Café. The decor is art nouveau-inspired, which creates a cosy, intimate feel.

There is plenty to do in the surrounding areas. Zeeland has kilometres of cycling routes that wind through the dunes, lead to the beach and pass over quiet country lanes through pretty villages. For the active, there is a long mountain bike track in the surrounding forest, and the wide beach is ideal for walking, surfing, sand yachting, boarding or taking a dip in the sea. Golfers can enjoy a round at the neighbouring 18-hole Golf club Molenberg. We also highly recommend a trip to Zierikzee, Veere, Middelburg or Deltapark Neeltje Jans.

Between 5pm and 6pm daily, the hotel offers complimentary bar snacks at the Lobby bar. Parking on the private car park costs €5 per day, with a maximum charge of €10 per stay. Packed lunches and room service are available for an additional fee. Wi-Fi is provided free at the hotel.

The hotel’s modern spa boasts a heated indoor pool, Turkish bath, Finnish sauna, infrared sauna and a solarium. The gym is free to use and contains cardio equipment. Massages can also be booked separately. Good to know: swimwear is obligatory in the spa, as children are welcome throughout the day.

~Rooms~

Retreat program

Day 1: Arrival and check in
Check in in the afternoon. You may arrive earlier and leave your luggage at reception to take a stroll. At 6 pm you have the introduction to your yoga instructor and other participants in the yoga room whilst enjoying a cup of herbal tea or lemon water. At 6.30 pm the first yoga class starts and lasts until 8 pm. At 8.30 pm you are invited for a three course set menu in the restaurant. If you prefer to have your dinner on another evening, just inform the reception and the yoga teacher.

Day 2: Yoga workshops
The Yoga workshop will start at 8am and lasts 90 minutes. The yoga class is both for beginners and advanced levels, although in our experience our weekends attract a lot of guests who are beginners. The yoga teacher will see who is at what level and respond. After the class its time for breakfast.

The afternoon is for your own leisure. Obviously the place lends itself very well to relaxing: fine wine tasting, enjoying a visit to the sauna in the wellness centre or take a relaxing walk on the beach or through the luxury boutique shops in the village.
At 5pm is the yoga class for 90 minutes. Dinner this evening is excluded so you can eat in the hotel restaurant or explore any of the high quality restaurants’ within 200 meters.

Day 3: Yoga workshop and check out
The Yoga workshop will start at 8.30 am and lasts 90 minutes. After the class, time for breakfast.
Check out is at 12 pm. A late check-out is possible, please ask the reception for more information.

‘I like repetition’

Where do we find you? ‘For Puurenkuur, you’ll find me at Landgoed De Holtweijde. I also teach yoga in Soest and often do home visits for energy work and massage. On top of that, I do some voluntary work in hospitals for Stichting De Regenboogboom.

What type of yoga do you teach? ‘My classes are based on Dru yoga: a supple, fluid form of yoga which pays particular attention to the spine and the heart area. Stillness in movement.’

What characterises your classes? ‘I love repetition. By repeating an exercise, you often come to experience it differently each time. Your experiences are also affected by, for example by what you’ve eaten, contact with others and the position of the moon and the stars. If you know the exercise inside out, repetition allows you to experience the exercise on different levels.’

What do people say about you? ‘They say I’m enthusiastic. And that I combine spirituality with a down-to-earth attitude. My yoga classes are intended for everyone. That means elite athletes to eighty year olds and everything in between. It doesn’t matter who you are, what matters is the effect.’

‘Gentle and kind at all times. From the heart’

Where do we find you? ‘I mainly teach on behalf of Puurenkuur at Badhotel Domburg. If the weather’s good, I’ll teach on the beach.’

What type of yoga do you teach? ‘My yoga classes are diverse and can be best described as Hatha yoga.’

What characterises your classes? ‘Varied, sometimes powerful, dynamic, sometimes calming, but always gentle and loving, taught from the heart.’

What do people say about you? ‘That my classes are very intense in terms of their degree of peace and depth. People enjoy that stillness and find it relaxes them.’

Stefine Geurtsen

Where do you teach? ‘In Zeeland in Renesse, Kortgene and Zierikzee.’

What type of yoga do you teach? ‘I teach vinyasa yoga (also known as flow yoga) and yin yoga.’

What characterises your classes? ‘The aim of yin yoga is to open up the connective tissue and joints. Vinyasa yoga is a powerful, dynamic style based on a series of fluid yoga postures. I like to combine the best of both. And I motivate students to go that little bit further.’

What do people say about you? ‘That I’m empathic, friendly and relaxed. That not only do I have expertise, but also a kind personality. They also say that my classes are suited to beginners.’

‘Personal attention for all’

Where do we find you? ‘At Badhotel Domburg, Grand Hotel Ter Duin, Landgoed De Holtweijde and in Boshotel Vlodrop. I also teach yoga in Baarn.’

What type of yoga do you teach? ‘My classes are based on Hatha yoga. But it’s the participants themselves who dictate the style and intensity of the class to suite their needs. Vinyasa flow or power yoga can feature alongside the main Hatha yoga classes.’

What characterises your classes? ‘I trained in the Far East. All the experiences I gained there are reflected in my way of teaching. A theme, a focus and a little massage at the end of a class... But above all, individual attention for all, and plenty of variation in the lesson structure.’

What do people say about you? ‘My classes are accessable for everyone. Wheter you are practicing yoga for the first time or you are advanced. With every Puurenkuur Program each individual will have their own added value afterwards.'

Lieve groet
