In this weekend retreat you will have the opportunity to take part in cooking classes that will help you to become more creative in the kitchen. You will learn how to create meals that will be healthy, satisfying and fun to make. You will learn about macro-nutrient balance, times of the day for optimal digestion and assimilation, how stress affects digestion and why it's important to relax while eating. You will learn about common allergens in foods and how to easily avoid them as well as effective ways of balancing blood sugar. All recipes will be vegetarian and dairy and gluten-free.

More and more research is showing the important role that stress-reduction plays with illness on many levels. This weekend retreat will teach you the importance of slowing down and relaxing, and what that can mean for digestion, assimilation and energy levels.

Daily yoga classes will also be part of the program and we will have a team of professional massage therapists on hand to give a variety of treatments, including Foot Reflexology, Deep Tissue Massage, Thai Massage and Organic Facials.


Littleton Mill is a 17th-century Wiltshire water mill set in ten acres of woodland and meadow on Semington Brook. Its large yoga space looks out over the water. The perfect venue for relaxing and rejuvenating. The Mill is run entirely on renewable energy . It is just a few minutes away from the Kennet and Avon canal, a great place for walking, cycling or boating.

Wiltshire is an ancient county of unspoiled quiet beauty. Littleton is located between the villages of Semington and Seend. The nearest towns are Trowbridge (10 minutes), Chippenham (15 minutes), Bath (20 minutes), and Melksham (5 minutes). There are numerous historic places of interest and areas of natural beauty to visit in the surrounding areas .

NOTE: Prices are based on two people sharing a room. Single supplement charges are £160. There are only six guest rooms available and these are allocated to customers on a first come first served basis.

Rebecca Andrist, Nutritional Advisor and Retreat Coordinator

Rebecca Andrist is the co-founder of Jiva Healing, and has been running healthy eating, detox and yoga retreats in the UK and abroad since 2004. She is a qualified Nutritional Advisor, Yoga teacher and Massage Therapist who has worked in healing centres in Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Thailand and the United States before starting her own business. Her healing work ranges across yoga, meditation, bodywork, nutrition, exercise, mind-body healing and colon care. She strives to inspire and motivate all guests to live happy and healthy lives and impart the necessary tools in order to achieve this

Melissa Kendall, Retreat Coordinator

Melissa, co-founder of Jiva Healing, lives at Littleton Mill, Jiva's UK venue, with her husband Richard and son Curtis. An ex-investment analyst on socially responsible funds, Melissa spent years studying the social and environmental impacts and practices of large food, chemicals and pharmaceutical companies. Her great passions are yoga, wellbeing and sustainable living. She has a Diploma in Advanced Nutrition, and teaches healthy eating and nutrition workshops on the retreats.

Teresa Montano, Yoga Teacher and Massage Therapist

Teresa Montano was a professional dancer for many years before becoming involved in yoga. Since the late 1990's she has been studying with various teachers and traditions and is a fully qualified teacher with Yoga Alliance and Sivananda Certification. Her commitment to yoga continues to expand both with her work as a qualified Yoga Thai Massage Therapist and her ongoing studies with the Inner Yoga Trust. She is also an Aquatic Bodywork Therapist (massage in water).

Susie Hampshire, Meditation Teacher and Massage Therapist

Susie is a professional bodywork therapist with a deep interest in holistic, sports, deep tissue and no-hands massage techniques alongside acupressure, reflexology, facials and kinesiology. She has taught massage therapy at the Claire Maxwell-Hudson School of Massage, and qualified in ITEC Nutrition and The Mehta Facial at the Champissage Indian Head School in London. Susie balances Eastern and Western healing traditions. Susie's passion is Meditation and she is currently studying towards a MA in Mindfulness Meditation.

"The retreat exceeded every expectation and will definitely lead to permanent changes in my life. The team was fantastic - so loving, warm and inclusive, very knowledgeable and so generous in sharing this with us. They had time for individual attention when this was sought as well as group sessions. Rebecca's food was a real eye-opener - I had thought that I had a pretty healthy diet - well, I will have a much better (and far tastier) one from now on. The yoga was brilliant - for me as a beginner but also for the very experienced participants. Helen who taught the yoga was brilliant, demonstrating and explaining clearly, gently "correcting" moves but most of all injecting fun and lightness whilst still achieving serious practice. There were treatments on offer from Helen and Susie during our free time (which I think we all indulged in and everyone sang their praises) and support from Didi who generously shared her knowledge of nutrition and healing with us. The participants were all really interesting, lovely people and the setting delightful.This was my first retreat - I look forward to more!"

This was a perfect and peaceful break and great to chill out with my sister. From our arrival and throughout the weekend, delicious aromas wafted from the kitchen, expertly run by Rebecca, who made sure we never went hungry. We relaxed like royalty, flowing seamlessly from one delightful meal or activity to the next. Behind the scenes, expert yoga teachers, therapists, chefs and nutritionists had taken care of everything. The kitchen was a hive of colourful activity, the vegan food was delicious and indulgent. The knowledge and expertise of our workshop leaders was apparent in all our classes, which were informal and accessible. Yoga was gentle and beneficial for everyone in the group. Our teacher, Amy, was highly experienced and very much in tune with individuals’ energy-levels, skills (or limitations)! Rebecca confidently shared her wide knowledge as a nutritionist. We felt really inspired by her use of fresh flavours and imaginative recipes. We left with plenty of tips for getting more veggies into our cooking and simple ways to add a healthy boost, without ever missing out on dessert, of course. Helen and Amy, our massage practitioners were skilled and provided expert massage based on ancient bodywork traditions. Our bodies and minds were fully rejuvenated - and we may well have lost an inch or two around the waist and gained an inch or two in height! We highly recommend this restorative break to yogis, foodies, vegans, non-vegans, solo travellers, their friends, partners or family. It suits peace-seekers, keen eaters, health conscious or health oblivious and those whose bodies may just be in need of a little tlc. We were so well cared for by Rebecca and her team - being so well looked after is also a good reminder to take greater care of ourselves.

"I have just been on the yoga and creative cooking cooking retreat at Littleton Mill and I can can honestly recommend it to anyone! The Mill was in beautiful peaceful surroundings with lovely walks, inside I felt completly at home in this cosy retreat. Reading by the log fire is a must! The yoga teacher was great, the group was of complete mixed abilities, which helped make everyone feel at ease and the studio was in a prime location, looking over the stream, a perfect place to practise yoga and meditate. Finally, the cooking, well wow! I have never learned so much and come away so inspired to change the way I eat and prepare food. Rebecca cooked the most colourful, tasty meals I have ever eaten!"
